Education & Publishing Fund

The Underhill Society of America Education and Publishing Fund was created by the Society in 1962 to "make studies, collect facts, and conduct research regarding Capt. John Underhill and other historical persons, publish and make the results available to the public on a non-commercial basis, and collect and preserve relics and historical documents concerning Capt. John Underhill and other historical persons and make them available to the public on a non-commercial basis by providing a public museum or otherwise" (1962 Trust Agreement Par. 2, as amended 1965).

The Fund is administered by a board of three trustees, appointed by the Society’s Executive Board, and is the recipient of income from a trust established by Myron C. Taylor.

Activities of the Fund include publication and distribution of the annual Bulletin, and maintenance of the Society’s collection of documents and artifacts at the museum-library in Oyster Bay. The Fund is tax exempt under Sec. 501(c)(3) of the U. S. Internal Revenue Code, and contributions to the Fund are deductible for U. S. income tax purposes.
